EASA’s Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 formulates the regulatory framework required for all uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) in the open category that are intended to operate within European airspace and outlines the rules and conditions under which UAS can be operated according to its type and the necessary remote identification specifications. This defines which C-Class level the drone will require. Murzilli Consulting’s UAS C-Class and CE Marking service supports organisations in their compliance with EU Reg. 2019/945. Our team is able to accelerate the certification process and ensure that the time and effort for coordination and background checks with the notified bodies are reduced.
We provide support services for:
- Assessment of UAS C-Class and Regulatory Requirements
We evaluate your unmanned aircraft system (UAS) to determine the appropriate C-Class classification and ensure that it meets all relevant European regulatory standards. - Selection of a Relevant Notified Body
We identify and liaise with the appropriate Notified Body and ensure that your product meets all regulatory requirements for safety and compliance. - Communication, Background Checks and Process Management with the Notified Body
We conduct thorough background checks on potential notified bodies to ensure they meet your project requirements, managing all communication processes, and overseeing the certification steps from start to finish. - End-to-end Project Management of the C-Class Marking and CE Marking
We guide organisations through every stage of the process, from initial assessment of regulatory requirements to coordinating with the relevant notified bodies. We manage timelines, documentation, testing, and compliance verifications to ensure a smooth and efficient pathway to certification. - Review and Evaluation of the Design Solutions
We assess the functionalities and technical specifications of an organisation’s UAS to confirm they meet the required regulatory benchmarks for EU Reg. 2019/945 and prEN 4709 compliance. We focus on identifying potential gaps, optimising design solutions, and aligning the product's capabilities with the necessary compliance measures. - Review and Evaluation of the Required Documentation
We assess the design, maintenance, and documentation to ensure they meet the required regulations and standards. - Preparation and Realisation of a Gap Analysis
We assess current coverage, pinpoint deficiencies and identify any gaps in the design and documentation in relation to the required regulations and standards. We also check the design and documentation coverage for the required regulations and standards. - Test Preparation Review
We evaluate test readiness, align testing protocols with regulatory requirements, and provide guidance to ensure compliance with the regulations and standards.
We understand that all cases are unique. In addition to our baseline services, we also offer the following add-ons (per request)
- Preparation of a certification programme
- Regulatory training on EU Reg. 2019/945 and the open category
- Supporting both evaluation and pre-certification tests
- Preparation of any and all documentation required for certification
