This special edition of the Murzilli Consulting newsletter spotlights our training opportunities in 2026, held in collaboration with our sister company, DroneTalks. Besides our customisable, company-specific training courses, we will host two scheduled training programmes. We will hold our 5-day UAS Regulatory and SORA 2.5 training in the Barcelona region from June 8–12, 2026, with 10% off for participants registering before 15 April, using the code BCN10EARLY. Our 4-day U-space and SORA 2.5 training will take place in Berlin, from 28 September to 1 October 2026.
The trainings not only provide conceptual knowledge, but real-word examples, including current implementations, and technology insights. The sessions are taught by expert teachers with industry and government experience; our instructors previously held roles at the EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency), FOCA (Federal Office of Civil Aviation), and AESA (Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea). The topics of our courses include UAS regulations, comparison of the European and American UAS regulatory framework, U-space and its role in the integration of drones into European airspace, UTM, the SORA 2.5 methodology, and the European airspace structure, management and regulation.

Our 5-day UAS Regulatory and SORA 2.5 training programme will take place in the Barcelona region from June 8-12, 2026, held in collaboration with our sister company, DroneTalks, and Barcelona Drone Center. If you register before 15 April, you can get 10% off, using the code BCN10EARLY.
The course offers a comprehensive understanding of the SORA 2.5 methodology and updates professionals about the latest European drone regulations, including the newly introduced U-space regulations, Regulation EC 2019/947, as well as a comparative overview of the American and European frameworks. Besides learning sessions, the attendees will see flight demonstrations showcasing real-world operations and take part in networking opportunities and cultural activities, such as visiting a winery in Pla de Bages and the El Toll Cave.
The training is delivered by expert teachers, including Lorenzo Murzilli, CEO and Co-founder of Murzilli Consulting and key contributor to the SORA methodology, and the former leader of the Innovation and Digitalisation Unit at the Swiss FOCA, and the JARUS (Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems) WG-6. Juanjo Sola, Chief Regulatory Officer at Murzilli Consulting and the former Head of the UAS Division at AESA, will also lead training sessions, as well as Yves Morier, former Principal Advisor at EASA and DGAC (French Civil Aviation Authority), and Lluís Amat, the Head of UAS Regulatory Compliance at Barcelona Drone Center.

From 28 September to 1 October 2026, we will host our 4-day U-space and SORA 2.5 training programme in Berlin. The learning sessions provide a clear overview of U-space and its role in the integration of drones into European airspace, the U-space regulatory framework, as well as the SORA 2.5 methodology, including the semantic model and key SORA principles, concept of operations and operational safety objectives. By the end of the training, the participants will have a strong understanding of U-space and the regulatory context and operational methodology of SORA 2.5.
The training sessions are delivered by Lorenzo Murzilli, CEO and Co-founder of Murzilli Consulting, and the former leader of the JARUS WG-6, where his vision led to the creation of the Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA) framework, and Paweł Tromiński, Director of Technology at Murzilli Consulting. Paweł is an aviation technology expert with experience in early aviation R&D projects, including the first EGNOS signal measurements for the Polish Air Navigation Services and the development of tools enabling GPS-based landing approaches.

In addition to the scheduled sessions, Murzilli Consulting offers customised training opportunities in collaboration with DroneTalks. These training programmes are tailored to the needs and experience level of each organisation and can be delivered either at the client's premises or online.

Our two-day online or in-person SORA 2.5 training programme focuses on the SORA 2.5 methodology, including ground risk, air risk, mitigation strategies, and operational safety objectives. Participants will learn to apply the SORA 2.5 framework to real operations, develop ConOps and Operations Manuals, address SAIL (Specific Assurance and Integrity Levels) and OSOs (Operational Safety Objectives), manage adjacent airspace, and contingency planning.
